| 13 is a nice number no? |
[Feb. 13th, 2009|09:54 am] |
Friday the 13th where everything can go wrong. The wrong-est thing may be that it is actually my last day of proper work (!!) As much as I dread work, I feel kinda sad to leave (plus all the packing up). But I leave today at 5pm to go to the brother's house to chill, actually to have khmer class then have dinner and then slack.
I'm drinking a coconut now, that nick bought for me this morning. How sweet.
There is also something wrong with my audio speaker on my laptop. Annoying, I think I might have to restart it, or not bother at all.
I wonder whats going to happen today. And I really need to sort out my travel plans for the next two weeks. Battambang, bangkok and siem reap. |

[Feb. 12th, 2009|02:50 pm] |
Recently, i have found the urge to update regularly, or often actually.
Today is the second last day of week. How time has passed so quickly is beyond me. This week would be my last week in Phnom Penh before I head to Battambang, Bangkok and finally to Siem Reap, where I'll fly off from. This also means that I am not going to have my laptop/internet access for the next two weeks. Though I'll prob be able to check my mail in bangkok, thanks to anson. Wow.
I look forward to tomorrow but I'm only half way through today.
I am very tired though and I dont know why. I slept at 11 yesterday and only managed to pull myself out of bed at 745am today. That's a long time. Wonder why I'm always feeling so tired and lethargic.
Psh. Alright, more research. Why is it so hard to find stuff you're looking for! urgh. |

My mum and brother are going to the UK in March. I almost find that extremely unfair. I should consider my options and think about going to Uni in Singapore. What are the chances. Boo. |

| 15mins of siesta left! |
[Feb. 10th, 2009|02:28 pm] |
I think I need to reread some books that I already have on my shelf in addition to the ones I havent yet read:
- Crucible - Death of a Salesman - What is the What - Three Cups of Tea - Flowers for Algernon - Harry Potter (though I dont think I can manage to bring that back to Aust, which means I prob wont be reading them any time soon)
Books that I defintiely want to get: - any prachett book - Grisham sounds good (though I think I already have some on my bookshelf) - LOTR (though I think I might have it on my bookshelf)
And I am still thinking... |

| Great Long weekend |
[Feb. 10th, 2009|10:14 am] |
Tuesday morning and I'm back at work again. Except that I'm not really doing any work because Nick the lawyer isnt around. I think he went for a meeting or something of that sort. Either that or he's not coming in today, which suits me fine as well.
Sihanoukville over the weekend was pretty amazing. The great beach lifestyle. Waking up and not really bothering about anything. The usual breakfast with some pool, then off to the beach to slack and start downing beer early, lunch, more beach - swimming blah blah, wash up, dinner and then pubbing and more beers by the beach. What more can you ask for, i must say. Besides, beer was going at 25cents during happy hour and for the rest of the day 50cents. How could anyone resist it then.
I just have quite a bit of laundry to get done now. I think I'll put it for wash tomorrow.
Pity I dont upload pictures but there are a few nice ones to show :P |

It is almost mid week and I look forward to it.
Thursday is the last day of week for the week. I managed to get myself friday and the following monday off (although with much reluctance). Am going off to Sihanoukville for the weekend. YAY! time for relaxation no!
But before that, I have to clear the library, and trust me, I dread that ALOT!!!! |

| its thursday. |
[Jan. 29th, 2009|02:07 pm] |
I think everyone else is having a siesta now while I'm awake on the computer doing my personal stuff (when i could actually do them AFTER work).
Thursday is looking good. Nick has taken half a day and friday off though. Another 2.5 hours before work ends and I go find another DVD to watch. Maybe I'll do letters from Iwo Shima again. I like war movies. I got my phone sorted out too which is cool.
It's a great feeling to know that tomorrow is the last working day of the week. WB is coming down, off to the marists house for the weekend, tourist-y stuff again and frisbee, coupled with loads of slacking before going back to my second last week of work. Yipee. |

| Rio and Brussel in a page |
[Dec. 17th, 2008|11:46 pm] |
So from where I left off,
9/12 - Landed in Rio, slacked and blah blah blah 10/12 - Continue slacking, together with some good beach tanning 11/12 - Going up to the mountain to see Christ the Redeemer and then the awesome night market. Love the art! 12/12 - More walking around the city, dinner with dad's boss, night market again! 13/12 - Down to Niteroi for lunch and checked out Dad's apartment 14/12 - Back to Paris for the day! Visited the Catacombs there. 6 million dead bodies stacked up underground (few stories down) 15/12 - Trained down to Brussel, Saw the Mannekin Pis, some good luck/famous jesus statue, the royalty's palace, good dinner with loads of mussels and then a drink at the pub (where my godma's bag was stolen) 16/12 - Souvenier shopping and then off to Amsterdam.
Stay tune for more information. Oh yes and I have officially registered for the Bkk hat. Exciting. So many things to settle. So little time.
Also, my godma's house is filled with so many interesting books. argh. |

Despite being the only asians around town, the slums (fravela) and the danger of being held at gunpoint, kidnapped, robbed, killed, etc, I really love Brazil.
But...I dont want to learn Portugese. |

| Its almost 8 in the morning in Rio |
[Dec. 11th, 2008|05:50 pm] |
So here's a compressed version of what I did.
Saturday (6/12) - Off to Disneyland Sunday (7/12) - Versailles, found a good Jewish French Restaurant Monday (8/12) - Notre Dame, bloody good french food: French Onion soup was gorgeous, Louvre, Eiffel Tower (to the top mind you, Night flight to Rio Tuesday (9/12)- Mostly slacking around and finding food Wednesday (10/12) - Beach, More slacking around with a bit more shopping
As of Thursday (11/12), we are still slacking at home and might be heading to the beach in a while, though, the sun is taking quite a long time to rise properly, or maybe I just cant see it from where I am now. |
